Proofreading With VJB Edits

Proofreading is the final quality check a piece of writing goes through before it is published. Proofreading ensures your writing and message is clear to read, credible, and ready for readers, no matter the style or intended audience. What proofreading doesn’t do is look at inconsistencies with details, the structure of the text, clarity, style, or the meaning behind the text.

My proofreading services focus on surface-level accuracy, focussing on spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, grammar issues, and inconsistencies with formatting.

I have been proofreading professionally since 2018, providing my services to the cybersecurity industry, proofreading reports, social media posts, email content, and marketing material; as well as proofreading content for an online speaker booking agency.

My first big proofreading job came in 2024, when the author Simon Hayes hired me to give his novel Zero Ri$k a full proofread before it was published in paperback, after typos were found in the published hardback copy. The manuscript I was given was over 600 pages and over 200,000 words. My job included checking for spelling mistakes, typographical errors, grammar issues, and problems with punctuation.
